SCDPS Reports Three Killed On South Carolina Roads April 1 – April 3, 2016

COLUMBIA –The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of three persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, April 1, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 3, at midnight.

As of April 3, 2016, 216 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 237 highway deaths during the same time period in 2015.

Of the 152 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2016, 77 were not wearing safety belts. 

Through midnight April 3, 29 pedestrians died compared to 33 in 2015; 22 motorcyclists died compared to 22 in 2015; and seven bicyclists died compared to five in 2015 on state roads and highways.
