Traffic Advisory: Detour Routes Due to Flooding from Tropical Depression

COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety reminds motorists to use extreme caution if traveling in the areas affected by Tropical Depression Bonnie – especially in Jasper County. Portions of I-95 have been closed SOUTHBOUND between Exit 28 and Exit 18 due to flooding conditions. One lane of I-95 NORTHBOUND is closed at this time at Mile Marker 21. ** Monitor SCDPS Facebook/Twitter for most current updates regarding road/lane closures.**

Traffic Advisory - Jasper County: I-95 22 mile marker Southbound only closed due to flooding.

Detour in place:

I-95 Southbound detour at exit 28;
Turn right off exit ramp;
Turn right onto Nuna Rock Road.;
Turn left onto Morgandollar Road.;
Turn left onto US 278;
Re-enter I-95 southbound at exit 18.

SCHP cautions motorists to remember “Turn Around Don’t Drown” message. Do not drive through standing water since it’s impossible to know how deep the water is or how swiftly it could be moving. DO NOT drive around barriers, which are in place for your protection.
