The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announces the following event: 

WHAT:         Highway Dedication in honor of fallen Trooper First Class Robert P. Perry, Jr. whose end of watch was April
                     15, 1987. SCDOT will name US-1, between I-20 and the Town of Lexington in Lexington County, the SCHP Trooper
                     First Class Robert P. Perry, Jr. Memorial Highway. Perry, who was a four-year veteran of the Highway Patrol, was on
                     duty and died of injuries sustained in a collision while in pursuit of a motorcyclist in Williamsburg County. Trooper
                     Perry was the 31st state trooper to lose his life serving the State of South Carolina. 

WHEN:         3:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022  

WHERE:      Town of Lexington – Town Hall, 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington
