The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announces the following event:

WHAT:                Highway Dedication in honor of fallen trooper Sergeant Robert A. Mobley whose end of watch was
                             July 19, 1979.
SCDOT will name the portion of SC-51, Pamplico Highway, between Flowers Road and Willard
                             Henry Road in Florence County the Sergeant Robert A. Mobley Highway. Mobley, who was a 21-year veteran of the
                             Highway Patrol, was on duty and killed after being shot during a traffic stop. Sergeant Mobley was the 27th state
                             trooper to lose his life serving the state of South Carolina. 

WHEN:                Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

WHERE:              Evergreen Baptist Church – 6316 Pamplico Highway, Effingham
