SCDPS Reports Two Killed on South Carolina Roads February 5 – February 7, 2016

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of two persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, February 5, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, February 7, at midnight.

As of February 7, 2016, 69 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 95 highway deaths during the same time period in 2015.

Of the 47 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2016, 27 were not wearing seat belts. 

Through midnight February 7, 10 pedestrians died compared to 18 in 2015; six motorcyclists died compared to six in 2015; and four bicyclists died compared to two in 2015 on state roads and highways.
