SCHP Holds Bridge Dedication Ceremony in Honor of Fallen Patrolman

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announces the following event:

WHO: SCDPS/Highway Patrol
WHAT: Bridge Dedication to Patrolman Jimmy A. Traylor (End of Watch – December 25, 1970)
The SCDOT will name the overpass located along Lafayette Drive in the City of Sumter “SCHP Patrolman 
Jimmy A. Traylor Memorial Bridge.” Traylor, a Fairfield County native, was on duty in Sumter County 
on December 25, 1970, when he was called to assist another patrolman and was fatally shot in the line of duty.
WHEN: Friday, June 23, 2017, 2 p.m. 
WHERE: Northside Memorial Baptist Church, 1004 North Main Street, Sumter
