SCDPS Reports Eight Killed On South Carolina Roadways September 28 – September 30, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of eight persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, September 28, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, September 30, at 11:59 p.m.

As of September 30, 738 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 736 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 512 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 255 were not wearing seat belts.

Through September 30, 112 pedestrians have died compared to 106 in 2017; 76 motorcyclists have died compared to 93 in 2017; and 15 bicyclists have died compared to 14 in 2017 on state roads and highways.
