SCDPS Reports Four Killed On South Carolina Roads March 30 – April 1, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, March 30, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 1, at 11:59 p.m.

As of April 1, 189 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 248 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 143 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 75 were not wearing seat belts. 
 
Through April 1, 28 pedestrians have died compared to 39 in 2017; 13 motorcyclists have died compared to 21 in 2017; and three bicyclists have died compared to six in 2017 on state roads and highways.
