SCDPS Reports Four Killed On South Carolina Roads April 20 – April 22, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, April 20, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 22, at 11:59 p.m.

As of April 22, 255 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 315 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 189 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 99 were not wearing seat belts. 

Through April 22, 38 pedestrians have died compared to 50 in 2017; 21 motorcyclists have died compared to 33 in 2017; and four bicyclists have died compared to seven in 2017 on state roads and highways.
