SCDPS Reports Three Killed On South Carolina Roads May 11 – May 13, 2018

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of three persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, May 11, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, May 13, at 11:59 p.m.

As of May 13, 322 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 382 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 234 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 116 were not wearing seat belts.

Through May 13, 48 pedestrians have died compared to 54 in 2017; 31 motorcyclists have died compared to 42 in 2017; and five bicyclists have died compared to seven in 2017 on state roads and highways.
