SCDPS Reports Nine Killed On South Carolina Roadways June 1 – June 3, 2018

Columbia – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of three persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, June 1, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 3, at 11:59 p.m.

As of June 3, 407 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 449 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 291 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 145 were not wearing seat belts. 

Through June 3, 61 pedestrians have died compared to 58 in 2017; 40 motorcyclists have died compared to 47 in 2017; and six bicyclists have died compared to eight in 2017 on state roads and highways.
