SCDPS Reports Four Killed On South Carolina Roadways December 14 – December 16, 2018

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, December 14, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, December 16, at 11:59 p.m.

As of December 16, 962 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 947 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

Of the 666 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 342 were not wearing seat belts. 

Through December 16, 144 pedestrians have died compared to 152 in 2017; 98 motorcyclists have died compared to 114 in 2017; and 19 bicyclists have died compared to 16 in 2017 on state roads and highways.
