As of January 13, 25 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 31 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.
Of the 22 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2019, 10 were not wearing seat belts.
Through January 13, three pedestrians have died compared to four in 2018; zero motorcyclists have died compared to two in 2018; and zero bicyclists have died compared to zero in 2018 on state roads and highways.
