SCDPS Reports Four Killed On South Carolina Roadways February 1, 2019 - February 3, 2019

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, February 1, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, February 3, at 11:59 p.m.

As of February 3, 80 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 69 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.

Of the 80 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2019, 59 had access to seatbelts, and 27 were not wearing seat belts. 

Through February 3, 16 pedestrians have died compared to nine in 2018; two motorcyclists have died compared to two in 2018; and zero bicyclists have died compared to two in 2018 on state roads and highways.
