SCDPS Reports Two Killed On South Carolina Roadways March 22, 2019 To March 24, 2019

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of two persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, March 22, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, March 24, at 11:59 p.m.

As of March 24, 188 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 197 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.

Of the 188 people who have died in 2019, 127 had access to seatbelts, and 58 were not wearing seat belts. 

Through March 24, 37 pedestrians have died compared to 31 in 2018; 11 motorcyclists have died compared to 17 in 2018; and seven bicyclists have died compared to two in 2018 on state roads and highways.
