SCDPS Reports 13 Killed On South Carolina Roadways July 26, 2019 To July 28, 2019

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of 13 persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, July 26, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, July 28, at 11:59 p.m.

As of July 28, 544 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 570 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.

Of the 544 people who have died in 2019, 361 had access to seatbelts, and 180 were not wearing seat belts.

Through July 28, 91 pedestrians have died compared to 88 in 2018; 59 motorcyclists have died compared to 62 in 2018; and 16 bicyclists have died compared to 10 in 2018 on state roads and highways.
