SCDPS Reports Seven Killed On South Carolina Roadways November 15, 2019 - November 17, 2019

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, November 15, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, November 17, at 11:59 p.m.

As of November 17, 862 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 930 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.

Of the 862 people who have died in 2019, 548 had access to seatbelts, and 260 were not wearing seat belts.

Through November 17, 142 pedestrians have died compared to 145 in 2018; 113 motorcyclists have died compared to 106 in 2018; and 24 bicyclists have died compared to 20 in 2018 on state roads and highways.
