SCDPS Reports Seven Killed On South Carolina Roadways November 22, 2019 - November 24, 2019

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, November 22, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, November 24, at 11:59 p.m.

As of November 24, 877 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 951 highway deaths during the same time period in 2018.

Of the 877 people who have died in 2019, 559 had access to seatbelts, and 266 were not wearing seat belts.

Through November 24, 143 pedestrians have died compared to 152 in 2018; 115 motorcyclists have died compared to 108 in 2018; and 24 bicyclists have died compared to 20 in 2018 on state roads and highways.
