SCDPS Reports Three Killed On South Carolina Roadways January 10, 2020 To January 12, 2020

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of three persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, January 10, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, January 12, at 11:59 p.m.

As of January 12, 16 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 33 highway deaths during the same time period in 2019.

Of the 16 people who have died in 2020, 10 had access to seatbelts, and seven were not wearing seat belts. 

Through January 12, five pedestrians have died compared to two in 2019; one motorcyclist has died compared to one in 2019; and zero bicyclists have died compared to one in 2019 on state roads and highways.
