South Carolina Highway Patrol Enters into National Calendar Contest

Mon, 07/15/2024

COLUMBIA - The SC Highway Patrol introduces an innovative vehicle combination to represent South Carolina in America's Best Looking Cruiser Contest — a 2024 Ford Mustang and a 2023 Ford F-150!

Held by the American Association of State Troopers (AAST), this annual contest allows state highway patrol agencies nationwide to compete for the privilege of showcasing their state patrol cruiser in the AAST’s yearly calendar.

The 13 states that receive the most votes between July 15 and July 29 will be featured in the 2025 Best Looking Cruiser Calendar, with the winner on the cover. In addition to bragging rights, calendar sales contribute to the American Association of State Troopers Foundation, which funds educational scholarships given to the dependents of member troopers across the country.

In an effort to get South Carolina in the rankings, we are asking media and other partners across the state to help share this message with your viewers and readers on social media, website, in print or in broadcast.

If you plan to help share the message, feel free to use the images and broadcast-ready footage in a special media kit we have prepared.

To vote SCHP in the Best Looking Cruiser Contest:

You can vote once per device (including cell phones, laptops, desktop computers, and tablets), meaning you can contribute several votes toward SCHP. The rankings are periodically posted on https://www.statetroopers.org/.

You can also keep up with the contest details and see our social media coverage on the SC Department of Public Safety Facebook page.

About the contest:

  • Voting is open now through Monday, July 29 at 12 p.m.
  • The contest was created in 2014.
