Impaired Driving Countermeasures

The enforcement, adjudication, education, and systematic improvements necessary to impact impaired and drugged driving. 

Emergency Medical Services

The development of programs to increase the number of First Responders to crash scenes and to provide for hazardous materials training.

Occupant Protection

The development and implementation of programs designed to increase usage of safety belts and proper usage of child restraints.

Pedestrian Safety

The development, implementation and evaluation of educational and enforcement programs that will enhance pedestrian safety.

Police Traffic Services/Speed Enforcement

The development or enhancement of traffic enforcement programs necessary to directly impact traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries.  Speeding, occupant protection, and DUI enforcement programs are priorities.

Traffic Records (Statewide Emphasis)

The continued development and implementation of programs designed to enhance the collection, analysis, and dissemination of collision data, increasing the capability for identifying and alleviating highway safety problems.

Two-Wheel Vehicle Safety

The development and implementation of programs to reduce the frequency of involvement of two-wheel vehicles such as motorcycles, bicycles, and mopeds, in traffic collisions.

Youth Alcohol/Youth Traffic Safety

The enforcement, adjudication, education and systematic improvements necessary to impact impaired and drugged driving among drivers ages 24 and younger, as well as programs to educate and improve the driving skills, attitudes and behaviors of young drivers, ages 15 - 24.
