Trooper Godbold was on duty in Kershaw County responding to assist another trooper and was killed when a pickup struck his patrol car. The suspect was captured and charged with Felony Driving Under the Influence. Trooper Godbold was a four year veteran of the Patrol and was a native of Marion County.
