The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announces the following event that is open to the media, but not the public: 

WHAT:     2023 Statewide DUI Enforcement Recognition and Law Enforcement Target Zero Challenge Ceremony

WHY:       To recognize officers and law enforcement agencies from around the state for DUI enforcement efforts in 2023. The
                 event will honor Officers of the Year and Agencies of the Year in several categories. Also, the event will recognize
                 agencies from around the state that participated in the 2023 Target Zero Challenge. 

WHEN:    Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.                       

WHERE:  Seawell’s Restaurant, 1125 Rosewood Drive, Columbia, SC 

ORDER OF EVENT: This ceremony is split into two sections. The welcome, special remarks, and DUI Enforcement Recognition Awards will take place between 11 a.m. and Noon. There will be a break for lunch (lunch is provided to media partners in attendance). NASCAR Driver, Ross Chastain, will speak and then the Target Zero Challenge Award winners will be announced. Due to scheduling, Ross will only be available for media interviews at the conclusion of the event for 15 minutes, which is anticipated around 2:30 p.m.  Please reach out to the SCDPS point of contact listed above with any questions.
