Patrolman Hennecy was on duty in Florence County when his motorcycle struck the railing of a steel bridge due to frost. A passing motorist attempted to take him to the local hospital, but he died on the way. Patrolman Hennecy was a five year veteran of the Patrol and a native of Georgetown County. Patrolman Hennecy also had a brother on the Patrol stationed in Spartanburg County.
